I own the A1200 and I also have the full version of MOTO TOOLS, When I try to sync the two and read the contacts withn the phone I just keep getting the error message "Conection Failed".

When I originaly start the MOTO TOOLS the phone appears at the bottom right of the screen and recognises the phone. but when I click on the phone book and try to conect it refuses to.

Anyone have any Ideas what is going on, Is there other software I need to use for this phone ? The phone holds alot of numbers and Iam very anxious to back them up.

Have you tried to check your firewall rules (if you are using any)? Maybe it's blocking MPT from syncing.

Thanks for the reply but with no luck, I went in and disabled all the possible security that could be blocking it but with still no sucess. same error coming up.

Any other ideas ?

what version of mpt's are you running? And what firmware?

Iam running V 4.2.1a Deluxe, but I had the same problem with Lite. Im not sure on the firm ware of the phone. how do I check the firmware?

Go to the dial pad, go to the menu button on the botton left.. insert, insert wait.. ( WWW008W) It will then display the firmware.

yes of course you have 44p.. And from the looks of it its generic.. Can you verify for me if you have generic? TO tell the difference.. Do you have any chinese letterings on the phone.. Or a welcome screen that says china mobile?

nope, nothing like that, It was in chinnese at the start until I changed the language but the MSN remained chinese till I uninstalled it and put a new Messenger service on it. now there is no chineises on it at all wheather it be printed on the outside or on the internal functions. or main screen.
