That is not the number I am referring to. You will find the part number maybe somewhere above this number. I found my number in the middle of the headset, there is a white printed number about 12 digits, and above that number there is a small blue number, it should start with SYN0948, look more carefully and see if you've got this number, it is almost the same color as the headset so is very difficult to see. Look at it in a bright place and see if you can see it. You have to be certain of your part number anyway to upgrade, as you need to choose the upgrade file according to part number.

3. Connect HT820 with PC using USB to mini USB cable
a. Press“forward ->”and “backward <-”buttons together
b. Plug mini USB into HT820
c. Wait 3 seconds
d. release“forward ->”和 “backward <-”butoons
e. LCD blue light on HT820 should be flashing
i. If light does not flash, charge HT820 for a few minutes and retry
i. If light is flashing, install driver as below

I think I am missing something here

Which part are you up to? did you press the back+forward buttons (not the volume buttons) together? Also, don't turn on the power of your HT820. Press the back+forward when HT820 is turned off. Immediately after you insert the USB, you should see the blue light flashing.
