Default A1200 vs Rokr E2 (linux version?)?

    Hi,

I'd like to get a linux phone and am looking at the A1200 and the Rokr E2.

The RokrE2 has the new "JUIX" GUI. Does the A1200 have this also,
or is it an older flavor of Moto linux gui?

(Also, off topic, I'll take any advice on where to buy one of these in the US.
I fear to buy from Ebay for fear of getting one of the look-alike clones)

    Thanks for any info!

Well depends what your going to use the phone for... In my opinion i dont like the look of the e2... The only advantage it has against the a1200 is the mp3 player... Everything else the A1200 is superior in every way. But again if you need a keypad then just get the e2 if not then get the A1200. I pretty sure you will be happy with either phone.
And TBFB will love me for this but i recommend this place to purchase your next phone.. http://tbfb.ca/store/product_info.ph...roducts_id/274
Excellent place! Good luck with your choice.

thanks for the tip about TBFB, i had three phones in their cart (one an a1200) and was wondering about their reliability; i'm looking for a good source for small-volume (10-100) deployment and i'm hoping they can follow through.

    Thanks.

Still, no one answered my question about whether the A1200
has tne new "JUIX" linux interface, or an older one derived from
    the 760/780

    ???

The a1200 i think is older version of what you are looking for. The a1200 was release in 2005 so I am pretty sure its older version.

Im sure they will take care of you! Good luck with the purchase!
As for mobygeek i have played with the e2 last week it wasnt bad at all. (My cousin is the owner) It wasnt anything dramatic from the other motorola phones. To me i was still more pleased with my A1200. This phone is really fast at start up!
