Default cannot transfer files through bluetooth

Ok, so I got my ming two days ago and have to say it is great. The only problem I have though is that I can't seem to transfer any files through bluetooth (usb works fine). The only services that are available for my phone are OBEX object push, Bluetooth serial port, Dialup networking Gateway, and Handsfree voice gateway. I am using a Kensington usb bluetooth adapter (broadcom chipset) with pretty recent widcomm drivers in case this makes a difference.

I read on a different forum that OBEX push should work for file transfer but try as I might it doesn't work, I choose "save to file" in settings but it still doesn't work.

Anybody have any ideas... your help would be greatly appreciated.

Put your phone in "discoverable" mode. Then start up you computers BT, it should recognize it and then you can create a bond.

The next time you're ready to transfer a file, again put your phone in discoverable mode, do a "wireless transfer" from your computer and it should then search your for your phone, recognize it and bam! You're set!

I now only use my BT for file transfers. Its really fast!

my phone bonds with my pc perfectly, the problem is that the file transfer service provided by my widcomm bluetooth software states that this service is not supported by my phone.

Shouldnt matter at all. BT is BT. Have you done file transfers before using another BT device?

Thats funny.. I was at my cousins house the other day and he my phone had trouble bonding with his computer as well... It stalled alot and didnt want to send anything..
Another thing i noticed... Is it just me or is the bluetooth faster on this then most motorola's? My cousin has a v3i and the bluetooth is much faster when sending things on our phone then his. Arent both phones bluetooth 1.2?

I'm having the same problem. The Bluetooth services search on my PC does find the File Transfer Service. Likewise, MPT does list File Transfer services either. It finds the other services mentioned below, but the mode were you can view the file system of the phone (FTP-like) from the PC and bulk copy multiple files at once is not available.

Note that I can still send and receive files piece-meal via BT send and receive mechanisms, but only onr file at a time.

Has anyone else been able to get FTP File Transfer mode via BT to the A1200?

    Bump...

Folks, has anyone been able to use File Transfer Services bluetooth service with the A1200? This is not to be confused with standard file send/receive capability.

I'll be providing everyone wih the .06p firmware track very soon. You'll be able to transfer HUGE files via BT and place them on your TF card instead of the phone memory
