SO if we mod the MP3's that we use as a ringtone, it will actually be louder too?

Hey everyone!
I Know alot of people have complained that the A1200 has low volume when using the real player. Well i have found a nice solution. You dont need any mods or seem edits.. just one app....
I came across this on the internet..
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows
Its Called Audacity. Its an open source program thats free and has no spy-ware or ads. The program is basically a audio editing program that pretty much does it all. But what it does differently from what i have seen is, it has a built in amplifier ( to people who dont know that basically means it will make your song louder!)
Anyhow you will need the LAME MP3 encoder in order to export mp3's so make sure you get that. Now some very simple steps on how to use it
1. install both the program and lame mp3 encoder
2. once finished open the program and open the song you want to mod
3. highlight the whole song (an easy way is ctrl+a)
4. Click on Effects on the top of the program
5. I recommend changing the db's to 3.5, to me thats the highest setting without loosing any quality. Again you may custom this to your liking. Oh and by the way click "Allow Clipping"
6. Now put the song on the phone and enjoy louder mp3's!
I took the time and amplified all my mp3's. I hope other members will now enjoy this as much as i have. It is very easy to use after the second or third song you mod. This program works wonderful with me and i hope it will for you! Enjoy!

But the sound quality is disturbed...
what settings did you use.. where did it sound disturbed? on my headphones it seems to be fine.. like i mentioned above 3.5 decreases quality. try putting it on 3 dbs or lower. you should still hear a difference. Also the music is louder on the speakers as well.

so how does lame wrap into this? im not sure.....
just download it to any location. Open audacity and like i mentioned in the steps above.. then click click and export to mp3 .. it will then ask for the lame.dll file. it will only ask you for this once. If you have any problems let me know.

Hi Alpha. Thanks for the suggestion with Audacity. But surprisingly, I do not notice any difference in terms of loudness on the phone speaker. I've tried 3.2db, 3.6db, 6.3db, and 8.2db. They sound incrementally louder on my computer, but when I play them on the phone through the phone's speaker, the sound is at the same level. So strange. I may have to try the hack in the end.
Update....I tried 16.3db and 22.3db as well. At 16 db I can hear a noticeable difference in loudness...but that's also when sound distortion comes in as well. I'll try and converge on the best value for my phone. I'm running 53P by the way.
