Couple Of Questions...

I just got my A1200 phone(yesterday) and I'm a newbie in these things. I got a couple of questions:

1) My firmware version is p44. How do I update it to the latest? I heard p48 is in Japanese, so I don't want it. I want the latest in English. Please, give me a tutorial.

2) The Mobile Phone Tools that came with the phone doesn't seem to work. It doesn't recognize my phone. It looks up for a "Motorola USB Phone" and hangs up there forever. So, how can I solve this?

Welcome to the board!
1. 44p is the latest firmware. Is your firmware generic or china-mobile firmware? if you are using generic then 44p is the latest.
2. For motorola phone tools to work you need to set your phone to modem. in the setup look for usb setting and have modem selected instead of mass storage. that should fix your problem.

if your phone doesnt say anything about china mobile in the main menu, has china mobile in the back of the phone then you should have generic.

... It does have Messenger and the Game in chinese, though.

i believe the china mobile one has bowling, and some kodak program and some extra stuff.. they should be in chinese even if your language input is english.

Okay so I have generic. I have three days with it, what can I do to improve my phone? Any MUST-HAVE software? Anything that will make it better.

it really depends on what you need and want. check around the forum for various apps or tips. i hope your enjoying the phone. its really a great phone.

Edit: Also, I need something to protect my phone. It didn't bring a cover so anyone recommend me one please. Also, when the phone is on a table, does it damages the camera lens?
