I believe you can register the network you want to use. And you can choose the cingular net id which is best for your area.. i could be wrong.. but i remember seeing that in the network setup menu.

Does the A1200 allow manual network selection with a Cingular SIM?
The Cingular signal is just strong enough at my house that my current phones foolishly register then my calls fail or cut out so I'd like to know before I order one.

where is the network setup menu?
In the Phone screen choose Menu > Setup > Network Setup. It will search for available networks, we only have rogers here so thats all I can tell you
