    Default bluetooth....myth or reality?

right,i wanted to use my ming as an MP3 player,so got myself a 1GB micro SD,
next step, for convenience,i was looking at a bluetooth stereo headset, since the regular 1 eared phone device isn't great to listen to music.
but does bluetooth drain the battery more than normal,as i read around here?

The regular headset is a 2-ear stero one!

Yeah, using bluetooth will always drain the battery of a phone, any phone. Quite dramatically too. But as phones go, I wouldn't have thought the Ming is a lot worse than others. I've read on various forums that 36-48 hours using bluetooth a lot is standard. That's not bad. It's comparable to an ipod. I get about two hours out of my 4g ipod, which is hopeless.

My suggestion is by an extra battery. They cost about $10 on eBay.

Mine came with extra battery I guess it's differenet with every company or maybe they're rippin u off? I see some come with the 512 mb memory and some come with 128 mb. what's with that?

yeah, mine came with an extra battery and a cradle charger (samya)
    it had a 128mb card,that's why i had to get myself a 1gb one.

    UPDATE;
i went around the shops yesterday to find a good stereo headset, and it's mission impossible 4....

first of all,99% of headphones have a jack that's not suitable for the ming,i tried to bypass that with an adapter, but i haven't found any nimble enough to fit snugly to the outter ring of the ming.
by that i mean that the adaptor's plastic outter is very bulky.
anyway,i went on and seeked something with a propper jack...
i found 2,and each of those ,when plugged in,only give sound in 1 ear.....
on the way back,i checked and found out that the jack plug supplied on the ming's original headphone,is pretty different to any other "mini" jacks

so,yet another exemple that those lovely peoples at motorola are very keen on making their equipment "individualization proof"
    and that sucks

    DANVER:
ur quite right, but i forgot to post my original reason for seeking another headset....
1st:the sound quality on the motorola headset is rubbish
2nd:they are not comfortable and hurt my ears
3rd:who wanna look like frank fucking einstein with two silver screw type sticking out each side of your head....

bluetooth kills the battery life. I dunno exactly from the A1200, but when i use the HT820 on my E680i, my cell's battery works for about 1 day, or listen to MP3s about 3 hours of music. With casual phonecalls, the battery dies by the end of the day.

Hi, wow this shows that the package u get for the phone differes greatly.

well, most of the packages depend upon what OEM items the store is giving away in addition to the phone. I'm pretty sure the basic motorola offering is something like 2 batteries, 2 stylus, phone, normal charger. Depends what each store does to "sweeten the deal". I kno in taiwan when i picked up my E680i, some stores were sellin the phone cheaper but not packaging the HT820 bluetooth headset which they were sellin separately

Sorry, noobie here. Can you get the MP3 player to play over a regular mono bluetooth headset?
With my job I can't have both ears covered, and the wires from the regular headset get in the way. But I haven't figured out how to play songs on my bt headset. Any help is greatly appreciated.
