Alpha, do you have China branding/ firmware on your phone?
I have tried that, doesn't work, I've tried putting in another tmobile sim and does the same thing.. I was wondering maybe my network is all mixed up, if anyone lives in nyc and uses tmobile what is your net Id? Actually anyone with tmobile here in the states.. Does the media Id differ between states...
I am thinking this because when I went to california (yesterday) I was on cingular... Wierd since I'm tmobile but I cali my screen now said cingular, anyways the moment I came back to nyc I lost connection, no service what so ever? Any ideas? I miss my phone so much.. Please... Does any one think maybe I have to reflash it?

im sorry to be bringing back a dead thread.....but i have this problem. My phone seems to lose reception when im on a call, so i cant hear the other person. Goes from perfect reception to 1 or 2 bars. Happens like i said when im on a call, or when i pick up a call. Not sure if its an internal antenna problem, sim card problem or something else. Ive flashed to 3 different firmwares, and its doing them on all of them. Did anyone find out how to fix this problem from 2006. By the way, Happy new year everyone and thanks for the help.

@danny: i am thinking anyone having found a credible solution would have posted back. Have you tried everything mentioned up there? Power cycling, etc? Still doesn't work, take it to a service station and let them know.
@shantanu: s9 losing connection is just a case of bluetooth range, and has nothing to do with the reception antenna.
it seems to have just fixed itself. I flashed to every fw i could find and it kept doing it. I decided to reflash it back to amins EE as a last ditch effort, and it works perfectly now. I just wont reflash again out of fear! thanks for your tip though
