Any idea how to disable the shutter sound completely?

ALright - this forum has impressed me very much. Anyone have any idea how to disable the shutter sound completely? I can change it but i want it comeplete gone... :P

The shutter sounds are hard coded in: /usr/lib/ezx/lib/libezxcamera.so.1.0.0

I can find no mechanism for overriding the sounds via a configuration file, environment variable or by placing/removing files in a directory somewhere.

Guess there's no way u can sneak in a pic of a hottie without them knowing LOL. Good thing it can record video.

I have a few camera shy friends/coworkers that I wouldn't mind taking pictures of for jokes. Not to mention times when you want to take pictures of people sleeping.

not only that sound, but even when my phone is on vibrate, it rings a little when i get a text message. is there a way to fix that?

Theres a app that you can install to disable the camera sound. Ill post it soon when im back home. Unless another member can upload the nosound app for me.

In 53p version 3 there is the ability to set whatever you want as the camera sound. Im pretty sure ive seen this in other firmwares as well.

Start the Camera.
Click the menu -> Setup
Click the picture of a camera second from the right.
4th Menu Down "Shutter sound:"

Yes, but you can only pick from like 8 stock sounds and there isn't a "no sound" option.
