A1200 - keyboard not working !

I've just got my hands on a black A1200 . The MING is beautiful , huge bright screen and everything ... but I'm having problems using the keyboard. If try to edit anything that has text in it, I pop up the keyboard, press the letters, but no letters are shown on screen !
It's really strange ! Also, my A1200 didn't come with the handwrite recognition.

It has some other bugs, but I guess the keyboard problem is the biggest issue at this moment.

This is probably the 1000000000st time someone asked this ... has anyone flashed the A1200 ?

My guess is your phone is not working properly. Mine don't have your problems. In fact I owned a A780 once, the first phone the shop gave me has a totally 'untouchable' touch-screen....

The touch-screen is working just fine, only the keyboard ( englishboard ? ) isn't working. It's really bizzare, because if I switch to the numeric keyboard, it works just fine !
