I'd been looking around in the download session and found this AlarmClock java app.
Going to try out soon. Guess it won't hurt to give it a try.
Hello Everybody,
I recently obtained a black A1200. Love the phone, the features are so much more advanced than my old V3. However, I find the alarm clock feature very poorly designed.
First of all, unlike the V series, you set the alarm's ringing properties through the "ring styles". In addition, I could not find a way to independently set the ringing volume of the alarm. The alarm simply rings at the volume you have set your incoming call ring volume at.
What I used to do with my V3 is keep my phone on during the night but switch it to silent mode so any 'wrong-number' phone calls by drunk folks wouldn't wake me up in the middle of the night; and I would be able to see what calls I've missed if I were to sleep in. However, with the A1200, the silent mode does not give you an option to choose an alarm clock. Hence in order for the alarm to sound in the morning, I would have to set the "ring style" to a setting which has sound (and a high volume).
QUESTION: Does anybody know of a good third-party alarm (perhaps in J2ME) which can solve my issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you can solve this problem by setting a no-sound ringtone to one of the profiles (such as "Ring Loud" as you don't need vibration for your Alarm), and set a normal alarm tone.
Just record nothing for few seconds and convert it to mp3, then use it as your ringtone.
I belive you can set different ringtones for different profiles, so I think this could work out.![]()
Thanks for the reply felinenico and dahanist!
felinenico: I can't seem to find the file you are specifying in the download section...
dahanist: Great idea if all else fails. you can simply use a sound editing program to create an mp3 with a one second silence and use it the ringtone for one of the profiles. You would also use the same ringtone for the message notification, etc.
The phone won't use a silent mp3 file as a ringtone. It gives you an error notice.
Have you tried: http://www.getjar.com/products/2697/InfoTimeAlarmClock
Scotty 1024:
Yes I have tried that program before. I find it very difficult to use and the functions to be very limited. Honestly I couldn't get it to work properly.
It may be a decent program for a normal cell, but for a smartphone, it doesn't suffice. In addition, it doesn't support Chinese characters as the alarm names (which isn't really a big deal though)...
Hi, switch off the phone!! The alarm will still ring! try it...i did and it works well for me! cheers.
Thanks, thats one way to do it!
