Default Sandisk Ultra II microSD and the Ming

Has anyone figured out if the Ming can derive any benefit from the Ultra II vs the regular Sandisk microSD cards?

I want to get a 1GB card but was wondering if I'd get anything for the extra $15?

oh,good to see this post,i was about to buy a 1 gig too,
does 1 gig works fine?i have seen some brochures that says the ming won't cope with more and 1/2 gig

and i didn't know there was 2 versions of the microSD,what's the difference?

also, what kind of price are the 1 gig micro in US and europe?

I've seen reports that 1 GB works but what I'm asking is if the extra speed of the Ultra II's is actually taken advantage of by the Ming.

from what i can gather from sandisk website it's clear that the memory works faster,i don't think it matter what the device exploit or not

a bit like asking if a beetle would run faster with a lamborgini engine

Actually the Ming has to be capable of moving data in and out of the card fast enough to take advantage of any extra speed from the faster card. In fact the Ming might not even be running full speed on a standard card.

An example would be if you had a hard disk capable of 15 MBps hooked to your computer via USB 1.0 which can do roughly 1.5 MBps. If you go and buy a hard disk drive that can do 30 MBps you won't notice any difference because both hard disk drives are being limited by the USB speed of 1.5 MBps.

A1200' usb is 1.1 so I guess there would'nt be much difference between the cards when the card is in the phone.
But if you would take it out and use a card-reader, then there will be some advantages of using the Ultra II.
Also, I don't think using a faster card will make applications or viewing doc, pic, etc faster either.

yeah,if i have to get a big file onto my card i just slide it in my laptop, superfast and no hassle

    is bluetooth faster than USB1.1?

I know the USB 1.1 on the Ming and the Bluetooth 1.2 are slow.

What I'm wondering is if the Ming's on board interface is fast enough to take advantage of the Ultra card or since USB/Bluetooth were so slow, Moto didn't bother with a faster card interface.

So how about it? Has any one tried a Ultra card? Did the Ming seem to Zing?
