Does Ming work on T-Mobile U.S. Network?

I am in China (Beijing) on vacation and have seen the new Motorola Ming/A1200. It looks awesome.

1) I have T-Mobile service back in New York. If I buy this phone and bring it back to NYC will it work on the T-Mobile network?

2) Does the phone need to be unlocked or can I simply put in my T-Mobile SIM and away I go?!

It will work on T-Mobile and Cingular (Any GSM Network). Most people who see my phone ask if it will work with Verizon/Sprint/Nextel, but I sadly have to tell them no...

And also, the phone has to be unlocked. Chances are though, most phones from where you are should come unlocked, but make sure you check with them first.

I have Cingular and the transition from my Razr to the a1200 worked like a charm.

Mine works fine on T-Mobile but it was somewhat of a biatch to set up MMS and the internet. T-MO support was worthless. Drool6, do ou have the voicemail SMS issue? It drives me nuts.

Yes, I have the voicemail issue... only pops up sometimes.. but I like this phone too much to let that bother me... something about the chinese firmware I believe?

Thx for yoru help. What is the voicemail problem? Does the voicemail icon only pop up occassionally?
