hi!! i just got a brand new A1200!!
it looks so sexy and small hehehe!!![]()
but i just have some problem setting it up!
i am really new to this whole unlocked phone thing or mobile linux thing!
so i was trying it by myself but i couldn't do it!
i set up a Profile in the network setup with the name Cingular and i used all the following settings:
Profile Name: Cingular
GPRS setting:
APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP @ CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1 (ALL UPPERCASE)
Time Out: Off
Primary Gateway IP: 66.209.11.61
Port: 9201
Secondary Gateway IP: 0.0.0.0
Port: 0
DNS Server:
66.209.10.201
66.209.10.202
CSD setting:
Dial in number 14152441012
Query at Logon: (NO CHECK MARK)
User Name WAP @ CINGULAR.COM
Password CINGULAR1 (ALL UPPERCASE)
Baud Rate Auto
Line Type: ISDN
Time Out Off
DNS Server:
66.209.10.201
66.209.10.202
After the following setting i went to my browser and added a profile as following:
Profile Name: MEdia Net
Homepage: device.home
Network Link: Cingular
then i tried to connect to the device.home, it just kept saying Connecting FOREVER!
am i missing something here? if i am can anybody please tell me what i should do in step by step since i'm really new to these stuff! OH yeah and if possible i'd appreciate it if u could also help me set up my MMS! thanks a lot!!!!

Clear out the DNS settings and remove all csd settings. That worked for me.
Any one got the MMS, EMAIL AND WEB SETTINGS for former ATTWireless users for this phone?
Ran across this but our beloved A1200 isn't a supported commodity, ideas?
http://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clien...guredevice.asp
i tried clearing out my DNS settings and all my CSD settings but it still seems like it doesn't work...
it keeps on saying "Connecting" forever..
any other solutions to the problem?
if possible can you please tell me ur exact setting for the GPRS if your GPRS is working on A1200? thanks a lot
Running former ATT GSM mmode on Cingular, I got the browser working but email settings are still crapped. Keeps telling me it's authenticating and then it failed.
Ideas, questions or comments?
it was my stupid mistake typing 9021 instead of 9201 for the prot hehe
when i tried without the CSD and DNS settings as Bruceleroy told me it worked! it is working very well now!
thanks a LOOT Bruceleroy!!!
now i still gotta figure out the MMSing with my A1200!!
any ideas?![]()
I have mine working with T-Mobile, but the mail client never authenticates with IMAP. might be my server, although it works elsewhere. ANyone able to use the mail client?
BTW, I got the installed MSN Messanger in english. the far left button on the bottom is the Menu. The 5th option down is Language. Hight the 5th item, then press the bottom left button (select). English is the first option. Check the radio button and press the button on the bottom left (Ok).
blk, with the exception of cingular, all other providers should be using a email server, former att, tmobile, verizon ect. But nope haven't gotten it working yet. In my case I think it's the password and login. But you case might be slightly different.

Pretty much tinkered with ROCKROMEO'S Cingular settings to work for ATTwireless.
Hope this helps.
