    Depends on the operating system. For winxp and linux it is working with a ppp connection. Windows 7 doesnt support this protocol. Therefore, you need to use a pan connection not a serial. For a pan connection you need bluez stack. The ppp connection needs only some loaded kernel modules before starting ppp connection. Then you can transfer files with samba share, ftp (additional software needed), sftp (additional software needed).

    Starting point ppp a1200
    For reference look a780 leoppp.

    If you cant manage it I can write a tutorial.

    Also just out of curiosity!, is it possible for me to change my firmware connected on the Bluetooth modem mode?

    No!

    Tutorial:

    *Prepare*

    A. Setup bluetooth binding with PC <-> phone

    - enable bluetooth phone visible
    - Add new bluetooth device
    - select A1200
    - put a security code for example 1234
    - connect and enter code on phone
    - select service "serial port"
    - configuration note down the com port

    B. create "null modem"

    -> Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add Hardware -> next
    -> Select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware" -> next
    -> goto the end of the list "Add a new hardware device" -> next
    -> Select "Install the hardware that I manually select fro_m a list (Advanced)" -> next
    -> Select "Modems" -> next
    Select "Don't detect my modem; I will select it fro_m a list -> next
    -> Manufacturer "Standard Modem Types" -> "Communications cable between two computers" -> next
    -> Select com port fro_m serial BT device -> next

    C. create new network connection.

    -> Start -> Settings -> Network Connections
    -> New Connection Wizard -> next
    -> Set up an advanced connection -> next
    -> Connect directly to another computer -> next
    -> guest -> next
    -> Name for the connection A1200BT -> next
    -> Select device fro_m step b: Communication cable between two computer (COMx)

    Properties fro_m new network connection A1200BT:

    Options->Dialing options:deselect "Prompt for name and password..."
    Networking->TCP/IP-> Properties -> Advanced-> "Default gateway for the remote network" deselect

    *Connection*

    1. Connect serial port and accept spp connection on phone. Now you have only around 20 sec time to make the next two steps.

    2. run ppp_a1200.sh script on phone with ekonsole

    3. Use the network connection fro_m step C.

    Now your phone should have the ip 192.168.1.4

    Samba shares:
    \\192.168.1.4\system
    \\192.168.1.4\ezxlocal
    \\192.168.1.4\ezx_user
    \\192.168.1.4\card

    Or you can look for linuxftp application.
    Attached Files Attached Files

    By the way this is tried with the Widcomm Bluetooth driver. I have now recognized that it is not working with standard microsoft windows bluetooth stack.

    Easiest way is connect with a debian related linux system.
