How to find the firmware of my moto A1200? what is firmware.

I want to replace the Mobile panel of my MotoA1200.
which it will cost around 3000/-. shall i go for the replacement as my mobile is 2.5 years old. iam facing the following problems with my phone.

1. some times touch screen is not working, after rubbing over the touch screen it'll work.
2. after removing the battery i've to set the time and date.
3.I’ve replaced new Motorola original battery in Feb 2010. But still battery backup is very less. Daily I’ve to put charging.
4. speaker is not working in the transparant glass.

i'm using this mobile because of the style and applications. shall i go for replacing the panel and servicing or purchase Quench XT3?

Dude Firmware (FW) means in short n simple OS for cell..... it will help u to update u r cell applications, working speed, and lots of things....
u r ans.
1. use screen calibration for touch screen smoothlly working.
2. update u r FW (find for flashing info)
3. FW helps u...
4. FW helps u somtimes... otherwise its hardware problem

if u can bear for Quench XT3 den its nice go with Quench XT3...

If you can afford 13k then Quench XT3 is better choice. If not then book Rokr E6 at ebay. It costs you aroound 4,600/- E6 is very similar like A1200 with better multimedia experience. Changing panel by paying 3,000/- is meaning less.

i've done the screen calibration a lot of times, but still i'm facing the same problem.
2 times flashed my mobile.But the same problem

den u need to modders help.... they will tell u about hardware problem if any.
otherwise go to youtube and search for e6 touch problem videos, and do it @ u r own responcibility.

weather its a e6 or a1200 screen caliberation is same for both. It's meaningless if touchscreen is nt workn. M also a A1200 user & bought new battery as well as the whole panel within 1800/= . Seems u r facing hardware prblm,switch to
" marcolnx_a1200ER_FP_INT " if its a A1200 2006 model. This firmware will help ur battery life & many aspects . If further dissatisfied get new chuck...

how could i find my mobile firmware. where can i get the firmware " marcolnx_a1200ER_FP_INT ". i enquired about the transparent glass which it will cost 1800. shall i go for that? i've checked the connectivity of the glasswires. it is working good. as per my knowledge the flexi strip was the problem.

100% hardware problem. If you want to stick to A1200 then go ahead. In Redington service centre cost of transperent flip is 1,600/-

Beg pardon 4 late entry........ u can find ur mobile's firmware version by typing " WWW008W" in ur phone..next use dis frmwr " marcolnx_a1200ER_FP_INT " if it A1200 basic it can be found at {http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/a...r_a1200er.html } and is qiute good or amin's new Amins_Green_PersianGulf. { http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/a...-2-2010-a.html } Regarding use of the mobile ,stick to it. New chicks alwas looks gud bt works less but ur ming is a super machine,i prefer not to ask u to change. Get the cover & use it. There are hell amount of question being askd evryday by many users & have solutions for them,so u wont have any probs left unsolvd. Redington service centre sucks don't go dere instd search for sm local shops,u can get whole panel for 1500..... hope u enjoy......

Absolutely right. Ming is perfect machine. Regarding local shops I am not sure. Recently my neighbor replaced flip cover & touchscreen in a local shop. But it is not upto the mark. So I ferl it is better to approach authorised service centre.
