Smile TUTORIAL: Enable Engineering Mode in A1200. Works Perfect!

    Hello People:

Yesterday, i discover how to fix AMIN GREEN Firmware to show Engineering Field Test and Engineering Menu with plenty of LIVE information from the Mobile Tower (Active Channel, signal, neighborhood cells, etc.). Some people uses this info as a poor man GPS, as you could triangulate your position. (i will add more info soon about this).

By default, AMIN Firmware and many firmwares does NOT have the EFEM (or Engineering Mode) enable.
You could test with the commands : WWW009W or PPP113P1 in the dialing pad. (Letters are made with the insert option, from the bottom menu). If the screen does NOT appear, means it is disable. So, you need to ENABLE IT jejeje.

First, you need to install : RADIOCOMM (download it in this post below) and install it.

Then, you need to edit the SEEM:

Only for experts (Easy method below)
    0032_0001 Offset: 02 Bit: 4 Value: 1
    0032_0001 Offset: 44 Bit: 4 Value: 1
    0032_0001 Offset: 44 Bit: 5 Value: 1
    0032_0001 Offset: 44 Bit: 6 Value: 1
    0032_0001 Offset: 44 Bit: 7 Value: 1

It could trigger both Engineering Field Test and MENU !!!
In order to access the MENU, use your joystick and move it to the RIGHT for 3-5 seconds!!!

Using Radiocomm for Seem edit is extremely easy.

EFEM or Engineering mode needs to edit just 2 offsets!!

    Easy Method:
Go to GSM2 section in Radiocomm

    In Element: 0032
The option below put 0001 (i dont remember now the name)
    Offset 0002
    Lenght: 0001
Click on RDELEM (Read element), and you will see the number below. Just put 99. And CLICK STELEMT (store element in the phone!!!)

    Same for the other one.
    In Element: 0032
The option below put 0001 (i dont remember now the name)
    Offset 0044
    Lenght: 0001
And put F6 (instead of the number it appears). And CLICK STELEMT (store element in the phone!!!)
    Thats all!!! It works!!!

Someone please explain me all the information!!!

    MOREOVER:

IMPORTANT: Use Volume Keys + and - to see more information in the EFEM RECEIVER menu. PLENTY OF DATA!!! LIVEEEE
    Where is the CELLID???

You could use this info for LIVE GPS Location using CELLID technology in realtime.
For GPS Location jejeje, just register in: www.celldb.org

Here is what i guess so far:

    P
    is the cellular band =PCS
    BC0008 is the broadcast channel.
    -094B is the signal strenght = -94dBm
EGid is some id you get (could be the cell id where you can determine the sector; the database I was looking is not working so I cant check) where EG stands for EGPRS and GP for GPRS.
mmc is the mobile country code = Guadeloupe
mnc ist the mobile network code = Provider Orange
lac is the local area code where you can determine the tower
rac is the routing area code

I hope in the future I find the key for all values.

    Thanks Halftux.

The EFEM Receiver has 5 screens similar to the picture, with plenty of live information, including neighboorhood cells (for triangulation).

Usually with MMC, MNC, LAC and Cellid is OK to locate your cellphone physical location using celldb.org or opencellid website.

I need to discover cellid info on the screen... jejeje.

    @Casper
It seems to be merely SEEM-dependent, as long as those qtapps is still on your system
