Thumbs up [INFO] EDGE and Rogers Wireless web settings

First off.... You guys are famous! Rogers tech support knows all about the forum, and in fact they refered me to it!
First thig they said was "youre having conection problems? you are using an A1200 right?"

Now, I did the EDGE mod on my a1200 using Alpha's script, and I can say that my conection went from 20Kbits using GPRS to 7 using EDGE!!

So I called thech support and got the wireless setup form them, changes my settings and I´m now up to 27-30 K. Is this a good speed? its the first time I´ve used a mobile phone to log on to the web, so I have no point of comparisson.

It is really tough finding Rogers settings (there are so many threads with different config parameters), so here are the settings they gave me.
Internet works perfectly so far, and so do SMS and MMS.

Internet.

APN: internet.com
User: wapuser1
Password: wap

Now, here is the big difference...Leave EVERYTHING else blank!, No IP, no ports, nothing! The guy told me this would be assigned at the server end uppon conection.

MMS.

APN: media.com
User: media
password: mda1
Gateway IP: 172.025.000.107
Port: 9201

URL: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com

Hope this helps a bit to those having conection problems.

------EDIT September 18 2007------
The previous settings worked great for me using 53p, however they did not work properly in 59p, so I called again and got some new information and it seems to be working quite well.

Internet:
APN: goam.com
User: wapuser1
password:wap
Timeout: 15min
Primary IP: 208.200.067.150
Port: 9201

Media (MMS):
APN: media.com
User: media
password:mda01
Timeout: 15min
Primary IP: 172.25.0.107
Port: 9201

MMSC: mms.gprs.rogers.com
Max Sending Size: 200k

Hopefully one of this options will work for you guys.

I had the same issue, I'll go through the whole Internet and MMS settings.
here we go....

1. go to your aplications manager.
2. go to setup.
3. tap on Data Network
4. Tap on bottom left cornet and tap on New.
5. Profile name "Rogers"
6. APN: internet.com
7. User name : wapuser1
8. Password: wap
9. Do not set anything else, and tap save.

This is the profile you should have your Web Browser using.

10. I assume you are still in the Data Network page, so create a New Profile again.
11. Profile Name: Rogers MMS
12. APN : media.com
13. User name : media
14. Password: mda1
15 Primary gateway IP : 172.025.000.107
16. Port : 9201
17. Save the profile.

18. Exit data network
19. Exit Setup
20. Exit App Manager
21. Tap On messages
22. Tap Lower left corner and tap on Service setup.
23 Tap on Multimedia Message
24. Tap the folder on the left to select profile
25. Tap on Rogers MMS
26. Tap Set as Default
27. Tap bottom Left cornet and tap Edit.
28. Profile Name should be Rogers MMS
29. MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
30. Max Sending size 30K (at least mine says that, but I think that depends on your fw)
31. Network Profile: Tap on the lottle folder on the right and select Conect Via: Rogers MMS and tao ok.
32. Save the profile.
33. Save the settings

That should work.
Let me know.

Thanks a lot for the settings. I followed the steps very carefully but I can't send any mms.

I was doing good until step 25 when I you said to tap Rogers mms. When I wanted to select the profile, Rogers mms was not available. I had to create a new one (your steps 27 -33) in order to have it shown in the list and then I was able to select it.

Any ideas, I also did the edge modding on my phone. I'm not sure it has something to do with firmware I'm using.

Let me know. Thanks

I am on Rogers & these setting are working perfectly for me:

Under Setup > Data Networks - You need 2 profiles as follows:

Internet *This is your MSN, E-mail and so on.
APN: internet.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Gateway: 172.25.0.107

Media *This is for your MMS.
APN: media.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Gateway: 172.25.0.107
Port: 8080

Messaging > Menu > Service Setup

Multimedia Message
MMSC: 'http://mms.gprs.rogers.com'
Max Sending Size: 200k *Rogers Max sending is actually 250k.
Network Profile: Media *From Above.

Voice Mail
+14035913172 *Insert 1 pause before password, then 2 before 1 if you like.

Be sure to setup your profile in the web browser:

In Browser, Menu > Setup > Profiles
Name: Internet
Homepage: 'http://www.google.ca/xhtml' *or other
Network Link: Internet

I've just got the phone 2 days ago, and here are the latest settings provided by rogers.

voicemail: +14163573229 *insert p(pause)then your password if you like

Internet:
IP:208.200.067.150
Port:9201
APN:Goam.com
Username:wapuser1
Password:wap

but here is my question for you all, were you guys able to get to the rogers zone home page when you go on the internet? it should be the default web page when you open the browser if you have a rogers branded fw. everytime i go online with the information rogers gave me listed above, it goes to a page saying how 'my favourite' page is no longer avaliable beginning of may, 2005.
