Thumbs up [INFO] Using Mobile Google Maps without GPRS traffic

Using MGMAPS in offline mode is easy.
You only need to download the maps you want and copy them to the cache folder of mgmaps.

I have used a frontend for the perlscript to download all the tiles I want.
I downloaded the entire South America in all zoom levels.

dedraks, how big are those files? Any chance of uploading them?

If they aren't humongous, maybe we could get a team to download specific cities/areas of GMaps and post it in a topic so people can download the entire area they are interested in, or maybe the entire globe if they wish.

How complicated/time consuming is it to download the maps?
