| nevermind. finally got this damn program working with the older alpha version! Then used the gmapmaker and it worked great. Just outline the area you want and specify zoom levels and it does the rest. Amazing program. User Information Current Phone: A1200 | | | | Member

| Since i got unlimited data plan i use google maps (wich now supports touchscreen, and has a nice gui also). But, the MGMaps, i used the 1.34.00 ver. (with google maps support), great app. I had the same problem, i downloaded, perfectly installed, offline maps checked, setting ok, but... didn't work because... i didn't enter the right coords and zoom level for the maps i downloaded. So, if you download the map coord (eg. 31.10, 131.10 - 32.20, 132.20; zoom level 12) make sure you point that area (menu -> go to -> coord: 31.10, 131.10, zoom level 12) otherwize you won't see anything...
try the mgmaps forum, i think you'll find more support there

| I've finally got it working to view the map tiles that I have download, but when ever I try to do a search...it gives me an error. So I go into test connection, and it tells me that it fails, but my internet works fine on the default browser and opera. | I had the same problem before with cingular, even though the browser works, you still need to have the right settings in your internet profile. For me the browser worked even without having the gateway IP and the port (with the correct APN of course), but to get the MGMaps to work i needed the IP. So this might solve your problem. If you find different settings for your internet profile save them and try one at a time, but only for MGMaps (from Properties, Data Connection...)

| I have all those setting all setup in my internet profile in the phone itself already in the DATA NETWORK setting...here are my settings information here: [INFO] EDGE and Rogers Wireless web settings
in the last post.
Or do you mean by inputting them into MGMaps' setting? I inputting those settings under PROXY in MGMaps, but still returns an error...any suggestions? User Information Current Phone: Motorola a1200 Firmware: Captivus_C2 Location: London, Ontario, Canada | | | | Member

| what i meant is you can have 2 or 3 different internet profiles, of course you have to create them (Home -> setup -> Data Network -> new) and name them whatever you want (netwk1, netwk2, netwk3) where
- netwk 1 have:
APN: internet.com
User: wapuser1
Password: wap
(everything else blank)
- netwk2:
APN: goam.com
User: wapuser1
password:wap
Timeout: 15min
Primary IP: 208.200.067.150
Port: 9201
- netwk3: APN: internet.com Username: wapuser1 Password: wap Gateway: 172.25.0.107
(btw these might be old settings for rogers so try to find the new ones)
then, go to the app MGMaps hold the stylus for 5 sec until you get the popup menu -> properties, scroll to Data Connection and choose netwk1, netwk2 or netwk3 one at a time and run the app to see which one works.
No settings for proxy need in MGMaps.
This is how i made it work for my carier (cingular), even though I had different settings for the browser.

| YAY! It's finally working! It's because I didn't set the data connection in the MGMap's property. After I created the 2 other network profile, I just set the data connection for MGMap under the normal connection that I have always been using. Once I got inside and do a search...BAM, there it is.
