Explain us because de app for downlading the maps is in PERL language...how do I run a Perl app in windows?

HOW TO DOWNLOAD MAPS GUIDE :

1. Download and install active perl

http://www.activestate.com/Products/activeperl/

2 . Download wget

http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/#downloading

3. Download the perl script (MapTileCacher.perl) from here

4. Rename the script from .perl to .pl

5. open maps.google.com and search for the place whose map you want

6.click on the "link to this page" link (top right)

7 save the link it'll be something like this

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...hi&ie=UTF8&ll=28.076827,78.104553&spn=0.502843,0.933838&z=10&om=1

now u have the starting coordinates( in bold) and the zoom level (in red)

8 move the map so that the end of the map is at the top left of the page (to get the ending coordinates)


9 Run the script (doule click)

10 select the map type

11 enter the values u just got (coordinates, zoom level)

a folder MGmapscache will be created

(keep the script and wget in the same folder )

thats it..

I took 1 day and 1 night to download Bangkok map in zoom level 17, 103MB download

I 'll test it on mobile today with newest MGMap that can use offline GPRS map.

i install mgmap 1.35 ,and download the map of shanghai,china,set the path,but the map doesn't show!

does anybody use moto E6 well??

and Could not find .....\mgmapscache\temptile
Error: requested tile does not exist

Huum I saw there are a lot of questions and I'm adding mine

Does Google Maps is working like a GPS software (Destinator for example ?)

or just it shows you where is the street you want to see ( for me the last deatures is unusual)

that's because wget is not installed in your system
