Many users here already realized that but...anyway.

Just to let you know that the 24xpp (with spanish and portuguese) already posted here by eduprogramador is being used by many of brazillian users and they are all very happy with it.

it is a viable alternative to the original 532L4 and it is much better (in my opinion and all other users I heard) -- faster, better battery life, speaker is louder, has superman included, support for startup1.txt, better camera support for photo and film, and many more advantages.

after flashing this firmware you can't go back (because 532L4 is not available to flash) and you can change only to 24p, 25p or 30p type of fw....but hey, from 532L4 you are already stuck with that.

Cool CLOVIS this one its working fine then with the 0FR firmware of the A1200i????

Is this one the firmware the users of the 0FR have been waiting for? I know that isnt the oficial one, but, its working with no problem????

Im really wanna be sure cose here in Argentina as many other countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, etc. we dont have any kind of support by Motorola (only in Brazil and ravefolk had to pay for reflash).

mmm....if you don't have any kind of support what are you thing to do if something goes wrong while you are flashing?

i don't know if there is some point during flash process that a sudden interrupt may brick the phone (without possibility to reflash), is there? is it true? or you can always try to flash again?

about 24xpp the only negative point I can remember now is the presence of some chinese programs I don't know what it does.


About 24xpp. This is the initial RUIZ impressions (I think he doesn't mind if i translate it here):

Pros
- in general it is notably faster.
- no need to confirm to save video and photo.
- better video recording quality!!
- louder speaker.
- Changed the font type. Don't know if it is a pro or con.

Cons
- Lost contacts because of a problem with MPT.
My notes here: I did not have any problems with this.
- Red and ugly icons and theme and Windows Skin.
My notes here: I installed the IPHONE2 theme and now it is ok.
- Real player doesn't has equalizer.
My notes here: It actually has. It is on a different menu option.
- Few pre-installed ring options.
My notes here: I like to make my own ringtones.


The cons aren't really cons. Just make sure you have a good backup of the database.

And the best: you have startup1.txt. With this you can change fonts and do some other stuffs only possible during startup. And some things that can be done after startup but you don't want to always tap the icon like volumeup, mount swap and ext3 partitions, run some daemons (smbd, sshd, httpd, etc.) can now start automatically just putting in startup1.txt.

look, I am only talking about 532L4_G_...0FR. I saw people saying they have A1200i with new firmwares like 532L4...19FR and 532L4...1FR. I don't know if they are better then 24xpp.

Is it possible to ask one of these who have latest FR fw to make a copy of /usr/language/vui/ folder and post it here?

I just integrated L4 language files in 30xp oent (best fw I've tried yet). This fw has new VR software and the files from .0FR doesn't work with it. So if I could get files from newer fw it might work.

I don't know if it is newer or if it is compatible with 30P.

He gave me a lot of work....he has a1200 for 1 week only...I had to remotely teach to use USB Storage mode and to install mpkg,linloader and run the script and also to install gpsp .

Hey that was fast, Thanks!

I had a quick look at it comparing filesizes and names. Some differ to the ones I used before. Some files are bigger and I hope it will fit into language CG as it's almost at maximum already .
If these don't fit for their size, I'll have to throw out business card reader (it doesn't work good for nonchinese anyway and the language data for chin/engl support is huge compaired to L4 version. BCReader from chinese fw doesnt work with the language file from L4 fw and I cannot change the application

JUST SWITCHED TO 24XPP LAST NITE... IS COOOOOOOOLER THAN THE 0FR... MORE FUNCTIONS, MORE SPEED, MORE EVERYTHING... AND THE RED ICONS.... THEY'RE COOL... SO AS THE ORIGNAL ONES. SAME QUALITY...
THE CAMERA.. AH! THE CAMERA... IS NICE, BETTER SPEED, PIC AND MOVIE QUALITY WAS INCREASED, AND IT DOESN'T PROMPTS YOU TO KEEP OR DISCARD TAKEN PICS...
AND ABOUT THE CHINESE APS, THAT CAMES IN THIS FW.. IT'S JAVA SO I UNINSTALLED IT!!! STRONGLY RECOMMENDE FOR THE 0FR USERS... :P
