I'm doing a quick small review for those people out there who are wondering wheather or not to flash to the 59bint monsterpack. I'm sorry for posting a new topic regarding this subject but its more visible.
What is this "new" Bints firmware?
Its basically a Hybrid firmware taken from the ROKR E6 and ported to the MING. Bint has replaced a few Code Groups from the ROKRE6 firmware into the 59, wish I knew which ones cause then we could do the same for 08p.
Whats New?
1. Equalizer in Real Player with 5 presets:
Whats good and whats not: The bass boost preset works amazing for those of you who like a bit more bass in the mings output. I do, so this is a boon for me. The next 4 presets are practicaly useless. Everytime you open andclose the player the next time you open it you have to reset the
preset(off the equalsier and then set it to preset again). While playing MP3's the tracks skip or jerk a bit like in the ROKR E2 but this problem was'nt present with aac format. The Music is better arranged in Real Player....with a bran new start up animation for real player.
2. Bar Code Reader:
You notice here that the picture of the phone is the ROKR E6 and not the A1200, as the sub title suggests this a a barcode reader and personally I have'nt figured out how to use it.
3. Video Camera:
Video camera supports 2 new resolutions:
1. 352*288 at 7fps max
2. 320*240 at 8fps
3. 176*144 at 15fps
4. USB Mode:
USB mode consits of 4 options:
1. Modem
2. Mass Storage
3. Media Sync(Which does'nt seem to Work for me)
4. USB Net
5. Call Divert:
This feature does'nt seem to work, but the Chinese have founda work around for this, which I do not know 'cause I do not understand chinese.
6. Menu Speed:
Bint 59xp V1 is a bit slow but Version 2 is a wee bit faster
7. PKG Installer:
Theres a built in PKG installer which also takes backups.....backups of what I really dont know 'cause I dont understand chinese......lol
8. File Structure
Is different from the normal A1200 monster pcaks which can be noted from the EZx_usr folder.....the new scheme is a it easier to program it seems ...that is why the radio software etc works on it and not on the standard software.
What I like about it:
The bass and the camera resolution although videos are still a bit choppy. Nice Icons but no animation, which can be obtained from the Gold skin
What I dsilike:
I totally dislike the start up and shut down Windows animation an the Red themes. In Version 2 there is a lot of Chinese folders and stuff, which I personally dislike since I do not understand the language....lol

, so I went back to version 1.
NOTE: I was able to flash back to the 08p after flashing to this firmware so have no fear flashing your phone, you can always return to any pack you want.
NOTE2: If I have left out any features please post 'em up without hesitation
My advice is if you prefer more bassy music and the increased video recording resolution by putting up with minor glitches, flash it or else forget it.
And my thanks to Bint who gave us this awesomepiece of work and cv144 for posting it up here.
Regards,
Akshay
