Exclamation A Comprehensive List of Non-EZX Firmwares for the A1200

Ok so surely we know that there are other "firmwares" out there that can be used on the A1200, Right? even more so then just knowing that they are out there is the question "How do i get my hands on them"? "Whats the difference"? "pro's and cons"? "Who makes them"? among others. the thing that i have noticed that there is alot of info on the a1200 custom firmwares but seemingly enough there is very little on these "other" platforms and my goal is to shed some light on these alturnitives

Warning: This is for informational purposes, BEFORE FLASHING TO ANY FIRMWARE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FULLY REVIEWED ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS, A BRICKED PHONE IS ONLY GOOD FOR TARGET PRACTICE

So whats on the menu?

#2 Android

Android is a software platform for mobile devices, powered by the Linux kernel, initially developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance. It allows developers to write managed code in the Java language, controlling the device via Google-developed Java libraries. Applications written in C and other languages can be compiled to ARM native code and run, but this development path is not officially supported by Google.

Alot of SmartPhones will use this firmware as an alt to Windows Mobile witch has gained it some serious credit as being an awsome firmware, android has alot of the same look and feel as the IPhone OS although most android phones have a qwerty keyboard attached

On 9 December 2008, it was announced that 14 new members would be joining the Android project including: ARM Holdings Plc, Atheros Communications, Asustek Computer Inc, Garmin Ltd, Softbank, Sony Ericsson,Toshiba Corp, and Vodafone Group Plc

So more info on Android can be found at the following links
