Arrow [APP] XPTools - File Manager (A1200/E6 English Version)

XPTools - File Manager

Another multi-function utility from CCMove out of China that was initially translated to Russian and has just been translated to English by Cynique.

See following link for Russian thread on this app ==>

http://forum.motofan.ru/index.php?showtopic=135865

Main Functions

w File Manager
w System Info - shows info on Memory; Storage; Processes and CPU
w File Compress and Decompress Function
w System backup and restore
w Password protection function.
w Open Text - File Viewer for viewing Text files - do not use as current version causes phone to freeze. Must reboot phone.

File Manager

w Permits you to Copy, Move, Delete and Rename files; and create and delete folders
w File Manager also allows you to view files in System dir; Phone dir; SD card; Ezxsetup and Root.

Backup Function

Backs up:
- phone numbers (including call tone, caller photographs, and short message)
- MMS
- mpkg and java programs installed on the phone.
- current version of the theme
- bookmarks,
- Internet setup, and various other aspects installed.

Backup file is written to the SD card.

Compress/Decompress Function

w Can be to compress both files and folders.
w Decompresses files of type zip, rar, gz, tar and tgz

Password Function

Not for password protecting files or folders, but sfor password protecting starting the XPTools app itself (not sure what use that is - but it is ther if you want it!).

w The default password is "680"
w You can change this on Control screen (see last screenshot) - by checking checkbox, change password and then click on 'ok' (invisible button to the left of close [X] button in the middle of lower black bar)
w Once done it will for the password everytime you start the application.
w Best not to use symbols if you change this password (Advice from author)
w If you forget the password, you can retrieve it from the file xmplayer.conf in the XPTools installation directory.

Default nice application

this seems to be a very nice application. I'll definitely try it but i just have one question - How its lock function works. Is it for locking individual folder or directories? and all those who tried it, please confirm for which firmware version it works?

hey this app is really cool. But i got 1 bug in this ...
when u try to install any java application u get only 1 option space like phone u cant get transflash option for installing java app.

if u remove xptool then u get both option. plz find the proper solution for this.

Let me try to understand your problem. You successfully installed XPTools, but after that you were unable to install any more java apps to your SD card. So you uninstalled XPTools and you were able to install more java apps? And with XPTools installed you still have 20MB of free space. Is this correct?

If so then I definitely think it is a space problem. SD card needs at least 15MB - and you are pretty close to that limit. (See problem solving area at bottom of FAQ sticky for more on this). Easy to tell - move a bunch of things (photos?) off card to free up some space and try again.
