1) The touchscreen interface has been improved (In my view!)
2) When you press the "Update Sound" button, a ding dong sound is produced, so that one can realize that the button has been actually pressed.
3) more changing options have been activated (Actually, additional options already existed in the package; and I just made them visible. However, I've not tested the impact of changing the new options.)
How to Install
1. Install the original volset.pkg file from the first post above.
2. Unzip the "volset_mod_0.x.zip" and copy ins content into the volset directory: ".system\QTDownLoad\volset".
One of the files in "volset_mod_0.x.zip" is "drfun_ezx_volumetable.cfg.3", which determines the maximum value that each item would get, if one sets the item to the "High" position. You could achieve higher volumes by modifying this file before copying it into the "volset" directory. However, one should be careful not to use very high values, which might be harmful for the phone.
Thanks to drfun for writing "volumeup", to ghostwheel for creating "volset", and to indiacam for uploading it here.

Hi,
I've again slightly modified the interface of volset.pkg. Changes include:
1) all 19 options are visible and effective.
2) setting in "drfun_ezx_volumetable.cfg.3" was slightly changed, and a new file "drfun_ezx_volumetable.cfg.4" was added to have an "Extra" level for adjusting (increasing) the phone's volume settings.
There are two different new interfaces (images are attached): one with an additional option "Min" (i.e., volset_mod_0.2.zip), for setting sound parameters to their Minimal values, and one without this option (i.e., volset_mod_0.1.zip).
Depending on which interface you prefer, unzip the appropriate zip file into ".system\QTDownLoad\volset" directory of your phone.
One could modify "drfun_ezx_volumetable.cfg.3" and "drfun_ezx_volumetable.cfg.4" to change the impact of options "High" and "Extra", respectively. However, be careful not to set very high values, which might be harmful for the phone!
These volume tables include 19 rows, each of which has a set of 10 parameters. Since each row has its own title (e.g., pcap_loudspk_music), it is almost clear what is the effect of changing each row. However, it is not clear at all what is the impact of changing the 10 parameters individually. (I read somewhere that they act as different channels of an equalizer.) However, since I wasn't sure about the role of individual parameters, I set equal numbers for each row (except for the last row). (for more details about these parameters, please refer to Lets dig into the volume table of A1200!!, and please add more information if you could)

Hi,
I've designed a new interface for volset.pkg, which has fewer items to modify but instead has more options to select for each item.
Just unzip volset_mod_0.3 into directory ".system\QTDownLoad\volset". Please note that I've not tested maximum setting (i.e., +eight) for all items. So, select higher options at your own risk!! I'd suggest that higher options would be selected only if lower ones have proved to be unsatisfactory.

Hi,
I've pushed the interface of "volset" to its limit, and modified it once again (perhaps for the last time!). The changes include:
1) Titles of items have been further reduced, so that all 19 items of the volume table can be included in the interface (and can be increased up to 8 levels).
2) When "Update Sound" button is pressed, a log file called "volset.log", which shows a summary of performed actions, is created and saved in the \tmp directory of the phone.
As a side effect of the first change, volset now needs a little more time to load (about 5 seconds). Please note that I haven't applied all the available increasing options (+1, +2, etc.) to my phone. So apply these options (particularly higher ones) at your own risk!!. My recommendation is: gradually increase the volume and apply higher options only if you found lower ones unsatisfactory.
How to Install:
1) Install the original volset.pkg from the first post above
2) unzip "volset_0.4.zip" and copy its content into ".system\QTDownLoad\volset" directory of your phone (some of the files will be overwritten).
If you are using one of the previous modified versions, just do the second step (there is no need to uninstall volset).

Important Update Notice:
---If after applying "update sound", the volset.log includes the message "2)Sound Dir Failed!!", it means that the Volset is not working properly, and the following modification should be applied to the CardRegistry:
"UserID=ezx" and "GroupID=ezx" of the volset section of CardRegistry must be changed to "UserID=root" and "GroupID=root" (You can find the volset section of CardRegistry by searching for "Name=volset")
*** Please Note that the most recent version of Volset is Volset 0.5, which has been uploaded in post #24 on page #3 of this thread. ***

hey can anyone tell me what each one of the settings mean?
Hi,
The volume table of A1200 has 19 setting rows, each of which controls the volume of a particular device of the phone. Some of these setting rows are still unknown (at least unknown to me!). But, the effect of changing some of the settings are clearly known.
01-loudspk_music (sp_mu): main loudspeaker's volume while playing music
02-headset_stero (he_st): wired-headset's volume while playing music
03-loudspk_hfree (sp_hf): loudspeaker's volume in voice calls via handsfree (speakerphone)
04-handset_vcall (ha_vc): the volume of the tiny speaker during voice calls
05-headset_mono (he_mo): Bluetooth headset's volume (not sure!)
06-car_kit_vcall (ck_vc): car kit's volume in voice calls
07-3mm5_nomic_st (35_st): ??
08-3mm5_nomic_cl (35_cl): ??
09-mic_normalrec (mi_nr): microphone's sensitivity in normal recording
10-mic_voicecall (mi_vc): microphone's sensitivity in voice calls
11-mic_handsfree (mi_hf): microphone's sensitivity in voice calls via handsfree (speakerphone)
12-headmic_music (he_mu): ??
13-headmic_vcall (he_vc): ??
14-carkit_mic_in (ck_mi): sensitivity of the car kit's microphone
15-emukit_spk_ou (ek_so): ??
16-emukit_mic_in (ek_mi): ??
17-emukit_spk_cl (ek_sc): ??
18-emukit_mic_cl (ek_mc): ??
19-fmradi_spk_ou (fm_so): loudspeaker's volume while using the FM radio
