Arrow [APP] VistaClock - analog clock for E6/A1200

Vista Clock - an Analog clock for the A1200

Edited by moderator on Dec 4th to upload fully working version with all fixes listed by PaulF in later post included; and to add all instructions discovered by users into one place.

All credit goes to droopyargentina for discovering this app and making the original post!

This application places an analog clock/calendar on your desktop.
  • The clock slides out of the way when you use an application.
  • It comes with 4 changeable clock faces - you can replace with your own (see good selection further down thread).

Instructions for Installation

Is a regular PKG file so is install like any other PKG file using MPKG or Superman or SmartAsst.

Instructions for Use

Most functions of the clock are controlled tapping on the clock face and then using the joy stick as follows:
Click - switch between clock and calendar
Left - display clock menu
Right - clock will hide to right of screen
Up - clock will hide to top of screen
Down - locks and unlocks clock position so you can move around screen

Menu

1. Allows you to select skin
2. Allows you to change clock size
3. Change to calendar
4. Has following options (in Chinese):
....1 - Unknown
....2 - Locks or unlocks the clock so it can be moved wherever
....3 - Turns on/off the auto hide feature
....4 - Unknown
5. About the author (in Chinese)
6. Exit

Adjusting Time

You can adjust the time for your timezone by making the following edit after it is installed:
  1. Navigate to .system\QTDownLoad\vistaclocke6 on the SD card
  2. Edit 2 files: calendar and clock using a UNIX editor like CrimsonEditor (not notepad!)
  3. Add the time from your timezone to get to GMT on the export TZ line
eg for New York you have to add 5 hours to get to GMT, so the line would read
Code:

export TZ=GMT+05:00
Changing Clock Skin

You can change the way the clock looks as follows:
  1. Pick one of the images you like.
  2. Navigate to .system\QTDownLoad\vistaclocke6\skin on the SD card
  3. Rename your image to the the same name as one of the originals in this folder and copy file into this skins folder.
=============================================

Attached files have the code fixes made to them that are listed by PaulF later in the thread - as well as setting the time to New York time.

They are ready to install.

Beta5 is the latest and has the menu completely in English

yes it's working..
nice app... Changed it to indian time by editing "calander" and "clock" files and replacing
export TZ=GMT-08:00
by
export TZ=GMT+06:30
in ".system\QTDownLoad\vistaclocke6" folder
I know indian time is GMT+05:30.. but it's working correctly with 06:30
Here is the preview

Superb!!

Also, you could use the joystick UP or RIGHT to pre-configure if the flower will go UP or RIGHT when you access any menu.

Excellent Application.

Someone knows how to include it on the BOOTUP (similar to any start application in windows that loads on bootup..)

Droopy

I copied these three lines to startup.txt(I got it from google translated page so could be wrong):

sleep 18s
/mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/vistaclocke6/clock &
/mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/vistaclocke6/calendar &

The clock starts when I boot.

Also, my cygwin TZ setting works in the clock file:
TZ=PST8PDT7,M3.2.0/2,M11.1.0/2

It has the DST dates. I am pacific stand time PST. GMT - 8
